Q&A:

Garrett asked I need a wireless security camera that uploads as it takes pics / video?

I need a small, wireless camera that will connect to a remote network and upload images / video as it records. Can someone provide some information on where I could get something similar?

Thanks,
I’m looking for something where I won’t have to physically be present to transfer the recorded content.

And got the following answer:

LogicTech, D-Link, Netgear & Cisco all offer Network Webcam/CCTV, but not sure which Make & Model suit your bill.

Suggest you check out their websites for more detail.

“Brando” asked Connecting Wireless Security Cameras to Wireless Network?

OK so I bought a wireless surveillance system with 4 cameras. i also have a wireless router laying around (D-Link). What do I need to do to pick up the camera signals on my wireless router so I can view them on the computer?

And got the following answer:

reading the manual for your wireless cameras would be the first step.
You will probably need to install some s/w on your PC and then connect the cameras to your home network.

Crimson Fox asked What camera is good for getting footage away from my computer but can hook up to the computer?

in case you don’t understand the way I put the question: What camera is good for getting footage in different rooms other than the room the computer is in that can have the footage put on the computer? if you could tell me where to get it too would be great. thank you for your time.

And got the following answer:

If I understand you correctly, then you should get wireless IP cameras. They can be set up to transfer video wirelessly from different locations of the house and viewed on any computer. You can do a search on Bestbuy.com for “wireless camera.” Look for either D-link or Linksys.
