“We can make the entire design super-thin,” Zhong said of graphene lenses. This undated publicity photo released by Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. shows Navy SEALs seen through the greenish glow of night vision goggles, as they prepare to breach a locked door in Osama Bin Laden’s compound in Columbia Pictures’ hyper-realistic new action thriller from director Kathryn Bigelow, “Zero Dark Thirty.” (AP Photo/Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., Jonathan Olley)AP The Independent reported : Previous attempts to use graphene in this way have suffered from the materials insensitivity towards parts of the light spectrum. The team from Michigans breakthrough was to create a sandwich of layers, with an insulating barrier placed between two slices of graphene and an electrical current sent through the bottom part.

Contact Lenses With Night Vision Coming To Troops?

Generally speaking, though, if you stick to the official Google Play store your odds of downloading something nefarious are significantly lower than when you download apps from a third-party app store. That isnt always the case, though, as AVAST claims to have discovered an app in the Google Play app store designed to steal your money. The app is called Camara Vision Nocturnawhich is Spanish for night vision camera and the name seems ironically apropos for an app engineered to rob you blind. As I write this, its still available for download. If you download this night vision camera app it will cost you. On the Google Play site, the app description reads: Want to make the most original photos when out at night without having to use the flash?

Ordinarily, graphene absorbs only about 2.3 percent of light that hits it — not enough to generate a usable infrared signal. But by combining two layers of graphene with an insulator, the researchers were able to boost the signal dramatically. Sensors made of sandwiched graphene can detect the full infrared spectrum, in addition to visible and ultraviolet light. Zhong and his team have yet to integrate their technology into contact lenses, but he says the technological pathway to such devices is clear. “If we integrate it with a contact lens or other wearable electronics, it expands your vision,” Zhong said.

Night-Vision Contact Lenses That Use Infared Technology May Soon Be Possible, Researchers Say

Its so reactive that any sort of light will white-out vision, said Steven Mattor, US Infantry Marine. When youre using night vision goggles, if you get whited out, you can just flip them up. Contact lenses wouldnt be able to do that. Not to mention, not everyone can use contact lenses. I personally cant.
