John asked Obtaining Night Vision Goggles?

Where could I find a good pair of night vision goggles to see good distances in the dark? I don’t want a rinky-dink Toys R’ Us pair, but also not a U.S. Military style pair that would cost thousands of dollars.

And got the following answer:

The products here look well made and prices don’t seem bad.

Nicholas asked Where can I get thermal goggles?

I don’t really care about price I just want to know where to get a “predator” style thermal goggles or a camera? Thanks for the feedback!

And got the following answer:

Here you go for thermal IR googles: http://www.opticsplanet.com/s/night+vision/cat~10
The predator views were actually special effects. It did not accurately show what real “thermal googles” would look like.

ozbe asked My father is looking for a cheap night vision goggle solution? Any suggestions?

He has a 3 acre lot and would like to be able to look around it at night just to see what type of wildlife is out moving around.

He doesn’t hunt and it isn’t a security issue — just something he’d like to have.

Any suggestions?
The kid’s goggles suggested in the first answer don’t have the distance.

What is the best cheap brand?

And got the following answer:

OpticsPlanet.com has a lot of models and very good prices.

Philip Casaceli asked What are the best Night Vision Goggles a civilian can buy?

…and whats the second and third.

And got the following answer:

If you want the best you have to to willing to pay about $16000 and you can get military night vision goggles for that price

Andrew asked Hunting:How much do infared scopes cost?

I already own a pair of nightvision goggles and its real cool seeing things that happen at night. I see alot of people with infared scopes on youtube and being as how some infared stealth cameras go for 50 bucks Im wondering how expensive is a infared scope. It doesnt have to be mountable on anything. Im willing to go about 300 bucks any more I will stick to my nightvision goggles.
No I dont mean thermal. I have tried the googlers but all I get is thermals. If you type in infared scope hunting on youtube it seems these scopes are very popular in the U.K.

And got the following answer:

If you mean thermal night vision, they cost way more than $300.

Al3 asked Night vision goggles for jogging?

I live north of the arctic circle, and in the winter there’s only a few hours of daylight. This might be a silly question, but 1st gen NVD are getting pretty cheap, so… Would it even be possible to run with night vision goggles on? These, for example:
They are pretty compact and lightweight. Would they stay on the head when running? Would the glasses fog up? Would you look like a fool? 🙂

If you have any experience related to this, please let me know. Also if you would suggest another/better product, tell me!

And got the following answer:

Those would be awkward, provide a limited field of view, and be heavy, adding over a pound of weight to your head. Being only Gen 1, the quality would be limited to the infrared illuminator and you would look ridiculous.

Um, how about a basic head-mounted light? They are cheap and very bright with modern LED technology. Additionally other people will be able to see you, which I think would be equally important.

Theo asked Night Vision?

Hi. I’m just wondering where I can get a pair of toy nightvision goggles that look like the real thing. I don’t want sunglasses with flashlights on them, I want them to look somewhat authentic. It doesn’t matter if they work or not, its only the appearence that matters. Also, resonable prices because they are for a movie costume, and not for actual usage. Thanks for your help.

And got the following answer:

night vision goggles,

so im looking for a night vision monocular thats under $600 these are the ones im looking at http://www.opticsplanet.com/night-owl-night-vision-noigm3x.html http://www.opticsbestbuy.com/Night-Owl-Night-Vision-Monocular-Goggle-NOTMG1.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/852346-REG/Armasight_NSMSPARK01CCIC1_Spark_Core_Multi_Purpose.html so what ill be doing with them is using them in the woods and going into abandoned buildings where there will be 0% of light. if you have suggestions for another monocular please post a link. it has to be under $600

And got the following answer:

See that “Caps Lock” button? Yeah. Remember to turn it off when you type your question, or else you look really obnoxious.
